Going to the Cloud is hard. The truth is that the journey toward the cloud never ends – because clouds are always in motion. Given that list of known cloud promises, everyone understands they may never have all those things at the same time; security, pay per use, compliant services, business agility, etc.
Most of us might eventually set up our cloud resources correctly including the ability to monitor and operate them. Many organisations do the data collection as prescribed, because that’s ‘best practice’, but do they ever really use the information collected to really drive improvement? Much more rarely, experience shows.
Reality is that often organizations are challenged to have the right responsibilities assigned to the right people or teams. Having a responsibility does not equal the ability for that team to honour it and be truly accountable for the required continuous improvements. On top of that, it is additionally challenging for any organization to allocate enough time and budget to keep up with these illusive challenges.
In this session we will look at this continuous journey to Azure cloud, and I will describe the posture we must have to drive success, and map out the targets ahead to eventually become successful in the cloud!
