How to Get to The Convention Centre Dublin (CCD), Ireland

Dublin Airport is Ireland’s busiest international airport, located approximately 10 kilometres (6 miles) from CCD. It serves as a major gateway to Ireland, offering flights to destinations across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and beyond. Operated by daa, the airport has two terminals, with Terminal 1 primarily handling short-haul flights and Terminal 2 accommodating long-haul and transatlantic routes.

Taxi:
Travel time: 20–30 minutes, depending on traffic.
Taxis are available 24/7 from designated ranks at the airport. It’s a direct and convenient option, especially if you’re travelling with luggage.

Bus:
1. Airlink Express (Route 747)
The Airlink Express is a dedicated airport bus service operated by Dublin Bus, providing a quick and comfortable journey between the airport and key locations in Dublin, including the Docklands, close to the CCD.

2. Aircoach
Aircoach offers a premium coach service connecting Dublin Airport to the city and major hotels.

Driving from Dublin Airport to the Convention Centre Dublin (CCD) is a straightforward and convenient option, especially if you value flexibility and privacy.

Please note that navigation apps and GPS devices can help you find the most optimal route based on real-time traffic information. However, here’s a general route:

Route to Follow:
– From Dublin Airport: Exit the airport and follow signs for the M1 motorway towards Dublin city centre.
– On the M1: Continue on the M1 and take the M50 Southbound.
– Onto East Wall Road: Follow signs for the Docklands and the Convention Centre Dublin, taking the East Wall Road exit.
– Arriving at the CCD: The CCD is located on North Wall Quay along the River Liffey and is well-signposted.

Train

The CCD is less than 10 minutes on the Luas Red Line from Dublin’s two main railway stations, Connolly and Heuston. Operated by Irish Rail, these stations serve all the major towns and cities in Ireland.

The DART

The DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transit) rail network runs along the coast of Dublin, from Malahide and Howth, to Bray and Graystones, providing transport from the city centre to suburban areas. Connolly, Pearse Street and Tara Street DART stations are all located about 10 minutes’ walk from The CCD.

Tram (Luas)

The Luas is Dublin’s light rail transit system. There are two lines, the Green Line and the Red Line. The CCD is on the Red Line, conveniently linking to downtown Dublin and Connolly and Heuston rail stations. Major Square and Spencer Dock are the closest stops. Switch between the Red and Green lines at Abbey Street / O’Connell – GPO / Marlborough stops.

  • The CCD has a secure underground car park with direct access to the venue.
  • Rates: Typically charged hourly or daily. Check in advance for current pricing.
  • Parking spaces may fill up quickly during large events, so arriving early is recommended.
