A workshop for aspiring developers who want to level-up their Microsoft Power Platform skill into the world of pro-code extensions.
This workshop will show you how to use custom C#, TypeScript, and PowerShell in combination with GitHub to enhance Microsoft Power Platform. You will learn how to set up your developer workstation with VSCode & Visual Studio for developing and publishing your extensions into Power Platform and Azure using code management best practices that work along side Power Platform solutions. Extensions will cover model-driven Power App forms, Power App canvas app custom code, Power Automate custom connectors, and Copilot Studio plugins.
Learning objectives:
- Learn to setup up your developer machine for developing with Power Platform.
- Learn to setup a code project and connect to a developer environment.
- Extend a model-driven form using TypeScript.
- Extend Dataverse using C# to create a plugin.
- Extend a canvas apps code component using React.
- Create a custom connector to extend a Power Automate Flow using an Azure hosted API.
- Create a Copilot Studio plugin that connects to Azure.
Prerequisites:
To participate in this workshop, you should have:
A basic understanding of the key components and capabilities of Microsoft Power Platform.
- A Microsoft 365 account with access to Power Platform.
- A laptop with Windows 10, VSCode, and Visual Studio 2023 installed
- Experience with coding in imperative languages such as C# or JavaScript will be an advantage.
